Mission Momentum: Human Trafficking in Maine

Mission Momentum is a monthly opportunity for conversations about and reflections on our Catholic identity, Mercy charism, and liberal arts foundation.
CourageLIVES, founded by the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec in 2015, is Maine’s first residential treatment program for survivors of sex trafficking. It provides outpatient services for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation as well as a residential safe house for women age 18 years and older, most of whom have never had a long-term residence or lived in a safe place.
Kate Stearsluce, Program Director for CourageLIVES, will join us to talk about human trafficking in Maine and the organization’s work.
