Ryan Rogers Scholarship and Matthew Rairdon ’13 Nursing Scholarship Recipients Chosen

First Recipients of the Ryan Rogers Samaritan/Student Success Scholarship Fund

The Ryan Rogers Samaritan/Student Success Scholarship Fund was established this past year by the Rogers Family. This scholarship benefits students who are tirelessly committed to doing good for others, as demonstrated by the parable of the Good Samaritan found in the Gospel of Luke, and as demonstrated by Coach Ryan Rogers ’20 during his life. In December, six students were awarded the scholarship in Ryan’s memory.

Matthew Rairdon ’13 Nursing Scholarship Recipients

Gary and Laurie Rairdon (on right) joined President Jim Dlugos and the two recipients of the Matthew Rairdon ’13 Nursing Scholarship, Lexi Witham ’23 and Brianna Jordan ’23 shortly before Christmas. The Rairdons presented a $15,000 check for the endowed fund, which they have been building for 8 years through the annual Westbrook Strong 5k in memory of their son, Matthew. The fund now stands at $163,000. The 9th annual Westbrook Strong 5K will be held on Saturday, July 16th. Details for sign-up will be coming soon on www.WestbrookStrong.org.
