11/23/21 – BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Region teams have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College senior forward Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) is one of 190 players from around the nation to claim regional accolades.

Division III teams are separated into six regions: Region I, Region II, Region III, Region IV, Region V, and Region VI — each region honors up to 16 student-athletes on a first team and up to 16 student-athletes on a second team.

A three-time First Team All-GNAC selection, Rutledge registered her finest season in 2021 with career-highs in goals (21), points (52), and game-winning goals (5)

One of the most skilled forwards in the program’s 28-year history, the 2018 GNAC Rookie of the Year and 2019 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year netted 53 goals with 33 assists for 139 points and scored 12 game-winners in 63 career games. She finished her career ranked second in team history in assists and third in goals, points, and game-winning goals.

For Rutledge, the NFHCA All-Region honor is the second of her career, as she also garnered First Team All-Region following her sophomore season (2019).

The NFHCA Division III All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of postseason awards to come from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on November 29, they will be followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on December 14 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 16.
