Once again, the Athletics Department is pleased to announce the following student-athlete awards.

Troy Hendricks, cross countryHendricks Claims Fourth GNAC Weekly Honor

10/19 – The October 18th Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College senior Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth time this fall.

Hendricks finished third with a 28:28 time in the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park on Saturday. The senior captain was the top GNAC finisher in the 8K race.

Saint Joseph’s returns to Franklin Park in Boston for the 2021 GNAC Championship on Saturday, October 30th.


Rutledge Named GNAC Player of the Week

Emma Rutledge, field hockey10/19 – The October 18th Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph’s College senior Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Rutledge tallied six goals and two assists for 14 total points in a pair of lopsided conference victories last week. The senior scored a goal and added two assists in a 10-0 win at Dean on Wednesday and broke the Monks’ single-game goals and points records with five goals (10 points) in a 12-0 triumph over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Through 14 games this fall, Rutledge has tallied 16 goals and eight assists for 40 total points. The 2019 GNAC Player of the Year currently ranks second in the conference in assists, points, and game-winners (3) and is third in goals scored.

In 58 career games, Rutledge has scored 48 goals with 31 assists for 127 points. She currently ranks third in team history in goals, assists, and game-winners (10) and is fourth all-time in points. Surprisingly, the Player of the Week honor is a career-first for Rutledge.


Walbridge Claims Third GNAC Weekly Award

David Walbridge, men's soccer10/19 – The October 18th Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College graduate student David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) has been named as the GNAC Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season.

Walbridge posted a 0.50 goals-against average with a .900 save percentage and nine saves in two GNAC wins last week. The graduate student turned away five shots in a 1-0 shutout effort over Elms on Wednesday and made four saves, including an early PK stop, in a 2-1 triumph over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Through 13 games this season, Walbridge sports a 0.72 goals against average with a .864 save percentage after yielding nine goals and posting 57 saves over 1,126 minutes in net. The 2019 GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year currently leads the conference in save percentage and ranks second in minutes and goals against average. With a 10-1-2 record, Walbridge is also tied atop the GNAC wins leaderboard.

In 49 career games, Walbridge is 27-3-5 with a 0.49 goals against average and an .858 save percentage. He has allowed just 18 goals while making 109 saves in 3,305 minutes between the pipes and ranks second in program history in goals against average and victories and third in save percentage.

Walbridge also ranks third among all active NCAA DIII goalkeepers in career goals against average and fourth in save percentage.
