A Thanksgiving pie journey. SJC style!

A big thank you to the fantastic teams of students, faculty and staff who donated to and/or volunteered in support of our Apple Pie Making & Thanksgiving Box Distribution.

Between the volunteers and donations, our College community distributed 1,500 pounds of food to our local community. Over 70 local families were recipients of the Thanksgiving Boxes that included turkey, pie, canned goods, stuffing, fruit and a handwritten note.

The College started this tradition over 10 years ago, it’s become bigger and more impactful each year. Thanks to the McSween Fund- a grant that was established to connect students directly with the needs of the community of Standish- this program has flourished.

Kathryn Cody, Director of the Mercy Center, who has lead this effort for a decade, says its one of her favorite moments of the year.
