Congratulations to Hall of Fame honorees: Kevin Fitzgerald ‘88, Lauren Hagerman ‘10, Kayla Nowell ‘11 & Jonathan Horgan ‘12 who were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 10.

Kevin Fitzgerald was one of the finest infielders to ever don the Monks’ uniform. The four-year starting shortstop garnered 1986 NAIA All-America, All-Area, and All-District accolades and helped lead Saint Joseph’s to NAIA New England Championships in 1986 and 1988. At the time of his induction, he remains among the Monks’ all-time leaders in runs, triples, and stolen bases.

Lauren Hagerman was a two-sport standout as a member of the Saint Joseph’s soccer and lacrosse programs. She graduated in 2010 as the SJC women’s lacrosse career leader in points, assists, and draw controls and earned a pair of First Team All-Conference accolades as a member of the young program. On the soccer pitch, Hagerman netted seven goals with 10 assists for 24 total points and earned Second Team All-Conference honors following her junior season.

As a four-year starter for the SJC field hockey program, Kayla Nowell was a three-time First Team All-Conference and two-time NFHCA All-Region honoree who established new team records for goals, points, shots, and game-winning goals. She helped the Monks earn a pair of ECAC Tournament berths and claim two North Atlantic Conference (NAC) regular-season championships.

The first men’s lacrosse player to enter the SJC Athletics Hall of Fame, Jonathan Horgan graduated in 2012 as the Monks’ all-time leader in goals, assists and points despite having missed his sophomore season due to injury. The two-time First Team All-Conference selection was the first SJC player to garner ECAC All-New England and NEILA Senior All-Star Game recognition. Horgan helped the Monks make four conference tourney appearances, including 2011 when they notched the program’s first playoff victory.
