End of semester Residence Hall Information
Share
With the finals on the horizon and the end of the semester approaching, the Residential Living Office is here to share all of the important information and reminders on-campus residents need to know about moving home for winter break and your return for the spring semester.
To assist students with studying and focusing on exams, the Residence Halls will transition into 24-hour quiet hours starting this Friday 12/10 at 11:59pm.
Students are required to leave the Residence Halls 24 hours after their last final(unless you’ve been approved to stay). If your last final is on Thursday 12/16, you must be out of the halls by 6pm on Thursday, 12/16. The Residence Halls will reopen on Sunday, January 16th at 10am.
Exit Covid-19 testing is free, available and encouraged before you return home. Exit testing is available from 9am-1pm on 12/14, 12/15, & 12/16 in the Health & Wellness Center in O’Connor Hall.
Upon your return to campus, a Covid-19 Test is required to return campus housing. Tests will be available on Sunday, 1/16 from 10am-2pm in the O’Connor Health & Wellness Center. Testing will also be available on the morning of Monday, 1/17 for those who arrive on campus Sunday evening.
If for any reason you need to reside on-campus for any part of winter break or need to return to campus before 1/16 you must fill out this Break Housing Request Form. If you are an athlete returning to campus for scheduled varsity sport games/practices your coach has already informed us and you do not need to fill out this form.
Your RA will meet with you to discuss Winter Break Close-Outs. Here are some important things to remember about leaving your room for break:
- You must unplug ALL electronics from your room including refrigerators. Please defrost all fridges and leave the door open.
- Close & lock all windows. Also pull down your shade.
- Turn off all lights & lock your doors.
- Take out all trash and recycling.
- Remember to take anything from your room that you will need over break.
- Residential Living & Facilities Staff will be checking all rooms during break health, safety and damages.
If you are planning to transfer, graduate, or move out of the residence halls for spring, please let our office know as soon as possible. We can work with you on updating your Student Account and let you know if there are other things you will need to complete.
Best of luck on your finals!
