“I thought the Flu Shot clinic was a great chance for nursing students to apply what we are learning in clinical to a more real-life setting! ”

Hands On Flu Shot Clinic

Share

Each year, the Health and Wellness Center spearheads a flu shot clinic in partnership with the Nursing Department. The clinic prepares student nurses for their clinicals. This year, the clinic provided a real life clinical experience to 21 nursing students. The students were able to fill syringes and administer the vaccine to their classmates under supervision of the Health and Wellness staff. This was an exceptional year to give that many nursing students an opportunity to learn. Some of the students expressed how this was their first opportunity to give an injection and they felt confident in this new skill when they left.
