If you have ever stepped foot in Pearson’s, you will surely be acquainted with Hilary. If not, you can recognize her by her remarkable sock collection, double braids, and vintage SJC t-shirt collection. Hilary is the Dining Room Manager of Pearson’s and has recently taken on some exciting new responsibilities in bringing some life and excitement to the Dining Room.
Hilary joined the Food Service team in 2013, and since then has been a staple figure in our lives. Now, in her current role, she will act as the liaison for all things Pearson’s. If you have questions, compliments, or requests for the kitchen, Hilary is your best resource. Find her in the Café, write a note on the wall by the dish rack, or email her directly at hlamkin@sjcme.edu.
Did you celebrate your birthday, or that of a friend, with a cupcake this past Tuesday (1/18)? You have Hilary to thank for that festive celebration! One of the charges of the Dining Room Manager is to add exciting programming to our semester calendar. Hilary has added a monthly birthday celebration to honor and celebrate the many laps around the sun that our Monk family have made. She’s also got a couple more fun surprises up her sleeve to keep Pearson’s fun and exciting all semester long; start getting excited for Valentine’s Day!
Share your ideas for Pearson’s, share your favorite meals, or tip your hat for all the little details that have come together to allow us to keep eating together as a community by reaching out to Hilary. We love to hear from you, and Hilary is looking forward to building more programs around what’s working.
In addition to all of the above, Hilary also manages our campus shipping container farm. She was even on the crew of people that built it back in 2017. Hilary has been part of bringing us fresh lettuce, flowers, and herbs since then and beams with joy when asked about it. So go ahead, ask her about it!
