Indoor Track & Field: Men Place Fourth, Women Sixth at USM

1/7/23 — The Saint Joseph’s College indoor track & field teams kicked off the New Year with an event at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday. The SJC men placed fourth with 49 points while the Monks’ women finished sixth with 30 points.
A pair of longstanding team records fell in the 2023 opener, as junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) broke the Monks’ High Jump mark with a 1.51m effort – topping Norma Waggett’s 1.45m record set in 2015 – and the team’s winning 4×200 Medley, featuring Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine), Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.), Ethan Tardif (Auburn, Maine), and Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine), posted a 1:36.24 time to break a record set in 2013 by Faisal Abdillahi, Connor Dufour, Billy Brooks, and Jack LaFreniere (1:37.30).
