Dexter Tabbed as GNAC Player of the Week

Lydia Dexter, women's lacrosse3/6/23 – The first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades of the 2023 spring season have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College grad student Lydia Dexter (Oakland, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.

The first weekly awards of the spring season encompass all games played before March 6th, a time frame during which the Monks posted victories over Gordon College and University of Southern Maine.

Stapelfeld Named NEWBA Rookie of the Year

Elisabeth Stapelfeld, women's basketball3/7/23 – The 2023 New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Region teams and major award winners have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College freshman guard Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) has been chosen as the 2023 NEWBA Rookie of the Year.

Stapelfeld becomes the first Saint Joseph’s player to earn NEWBA top rookie honors after averaging 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 49.6% (114-230) from the field, 36.2% (25-69) from three-point distance, and 81.5% (44-54) from the free throw line.

Coach Sanborn Notches 800th Victory

Baseball Head Coach Will Sanborn '863/9/23 – AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Saint Joseph’s College (1-4) split a doubleheader with the University of Mount Union (8-2) in RussMatt Central Florida Invitational baseball action on Thursday. With the game one triumph, Head Coach Will Sanborn ’86 registered the 800th victory of his college coaching career, which spans 31 seasons, all at Saint Joseph’s. With a career record of 800-425-6 (.650), Sanborn is just the 27th NCAA DIII Baseball head coach to reach the milestone and is one of only 13 active D3 skippers to have hit the 800-victory mark.

Pence Named GNAC Pitcher of the Week

Meredith Pence, softball pitcher3/14/23 – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph’s College senior pitcher Meredith Pence (Remington, Va.) has been selected as the GNAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Pence was dominant in three appearances in Kissimmee last week, as the senior southpaw went 2-0 with a 0.88 ERA while allowing 14 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts in 16 innings.

Goodfellow Earns First Career GNAC Weekly Accolade

Tim Goodfellow, men's lacrossse3/28/23 – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph’s College junior Tim Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.) has been picked as the GNAC Men’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week.

Goodfellow tallied seven goals and 19 assists for a total of 26 points in a 1-1 week for the Monks.

Abbott, Goff, & Young Collect GNAC Weekly Honors

3/29/23 – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and three Saint Joseph’s College outdoor track & field athletes have earned honors.

For their performances at Bridgewater State University on Saturday, senior Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) has been named as the GNAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) is the March 27th GNAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, and freshman Alexia Young (Rochester, N.H.) has garnered GNAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week acclaim.
