Share

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and Northeast College of Health Sciences are pleased to announce the renewal of their articulation agreement for the Doctor of Chiropractic program and the addition of a new agreement for the Sciences Department. This partnership reinforces both institutions’ commitment to providing streamlined higher education pathways for students pursuing careers in health sciences.

“These agreements play a crucial role in promoting accessibility, affordability, and efficiency within bachelor’s degree programs,” said Saint Joseph’s College of Maine President, Joseph Cassidy. “By partnering with Northeast College of Health Sciences, we ensure our students have access to advanced degrees and specialized training, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their health science careers.”

With a growing number of Gen Z students now entering college, these agreements give today’s learners the technology tools they expect in a collegiate environment.  At Northeast College, students have access to a chiropractic FAST Lab and Anatomy Center, featuring The Computerized Anatomy Resource Lab (aka The CARL) which boasts Anatomage technology. Opportunities to access these tools provide the real-life experience needed to continue New England’s legacy as a region known for its cutting-edge research facilities and pioneering health sciences innovators.

“The renewal and expansion of our articulation agreement with Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is a testament to our shared dedication to academic excellence and student achievement,” said Northeast College President, Dr. Michael Mestan. “This agreement is a joint effort in facilitating a smooth transition for students from undergraduate to advanced studies, fostering their development as our collective future leaders in the health sciences.”

A 3+3 articulation track will save students the cost of one year of tuition by allowing them to earn their bachelor’s degree in Medical Biology from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and a doctorate from Northeast College a full year quicker than it would take to earn the degrees individually. The new 4+3 articulation track will allow students to complete their undergraduate degree at St. Joseph’s College of Maine in either Medical Biology or Exercise Science and then automatically gain acceptance to Northeast College when requirements are met.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine 2022 graduate, Kaleb Witham participated in the pre-chiropractic tract while earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, helping him gain admission into Northeast College before graduation. Now on his path to earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December 2025, Witham has excelled in his courses at Northeast College. He shared that his education from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine gave him a strong foundation in sciences, especially anatomy.

“I knew I wanted to continue my hands-on education and training in healthcare. This simplified the next steps and really set me up for success,” Witham said. “It was also a natural fit, coming from St. Joseph’s, where everyone helps everyone succeed, it was nice to find the same dedication to learning and collaboration here at Northeast.”

More information about the partnership is available on the St. Joseph’s College of Maine’s website for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Bachelor of Science Programs in Biology & Medical Biology, and on Northeast College’s educational partnership page.
