SJC Alpine Ski Teams Claim National Championship Berths!

California Dreamin’ – The alpine ski teams set to compete in USCSA Nationals at Mammoth Mountain

2/19/23 – For the second-consecutive season, the Saint Joseph’s College men’s and women’s alpine ski teams have qualified to compete in the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships, which will be held in California at Mammoth Mountain starting on Monday, March 6th.

The St. Joe’s men finished the two-day USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf Mountain on Sunday tied for fourth with University of Connecticut with nine team place points. The Monks posted a 4:26.97 composite time to finish sixth in the Slalom Championship on Saturday and cruised to a third-place finish with a 5:17.23 time in the Giant Slalom Championship on Sunday.

The SJC women capped the weekend in sixth place overall with 13 team place points. The Monks placed seventh with a 5:19.26 team time in the Slalom Championship on Saturday and finished sixth with a 6:04.71 time in the Giant Slalom Championship on Sunday.
