The Rairdons tour the Center for Nursing Innovation

The Rairdons and Jim DlugosNursing scholarship recipients Alexis Witham ’23 nursing, and Brianna Jordan ’23 nursing, along with Gary and Laurie Rairdon, parents of deceased 2013 nursing graduate, Matthew Rairdon, got a tour of the Center for Nursing Innovation currently under construction in Mercy Hall. Simulation (SIM) lab technologist Tim Conley described the future SIM floor spaces to the Rairdons, who formed the nonprofit Westbrook Strong, an annual 5k road race that funds the Matthew Rairdon ’13 Memorial Nursing Scholarship endowment at SJC. The proceeds of the race also support other nursing programs in the area’s vocational school and community college.

Recently, the Rairdons presented President Jim Dlugos with a $15,000 check to be added to the endowment this year. Over the past 8 years, Westbrook Strong has raised a total of $178,000 for the Rairdon Scholarship Endowment.
