Share

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — The 41st annual Trek Across Maine kicked off Friday morning in New Gloucester. It’s a weekend-long bike ride to raise money for the American Lung Association.

Over 800 people are riding 180 miles over three days. The ride started at Pineland Farms on Friday morning, with cyclists headed to Bates College and staying overnight.

On Saturday, riders will head to their second overnight stop, Saint Joseph’s College.

Finally, on Sunday, participants will ride from Saint Joseph’s College back to Pineland Farms.

Since 1985, the event has raised $31 million to support research for lung disease and tobacco-free advocacy, and to host programs on the importance of lung health.

This weekend’s Trek Across Maine has already raised over $650,000.

Though it’s too late to join in on the ride, you can still donate online.
