We need your help with the new campus sustainability initiative.

The Center for Sustainable Communities has announced that the LS 100 students have started a plastic film recycling challenge and they need your help!

You will notice that there are new collection bins and signs appearing around campus. These are for clean soft plastic films:

  • bubble wrap
  • grocery and bread bags
  • ice bags
  • plastic shipping envelopes
  • ziploc/reclosable bags
  • chip bags
  • cereal bags

Don’t put them in the trash! Recycle them! Every bag ADDS up.

plastic film recycling containersPlease help the Leadership students meet their goal by putting your plastic films in recycling bins around campus. You can even bring your plastic films waste from home and leave it in one of these special bins around campus. There are maps around campus to help you find the five recycling bins.

If the students meet their goal of collecting 500 lbs in 175 days, our campus will receive a beautiful bench made out of recycled plastics for the pollinator garden near the lake!
