Speak with an employment reprentative at the career fair!Whether you are looking for an internship or a job after graduation, Career Fairs are a great way to make progress in your search and interface directly with employers. This experience will allow you to:

Five Tips for a Successful Experience

  1. Research Participating Companies
    Before attending the Career Fair, research the companies that will be present. Familiarize yourself with their values, industry, and available positions. This knowledge will help you target specific employers, showcasing your general interests and making a last impression. View the companies here.
  2. Perfect Your Elevator Pitch
    Craft a concise and compelling elevator pitch that introduces yourself, your major, and your career goals. This quick summary should highlight your skills and what you can bring to a potential employer. Practice it beforehand to ensure confidence and clarity when presenting yourself.
  3. Dress Professionally
    Make a positive first impression by dressing professionally. A polished appearance demonstrates your seriousness about potential opportunities and your understanding about professional expectations. Visit the Career Closet for a wide selection of professional attire. Career Closet is located in room 250 Mercy Hall and is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
  4. Bring Multiple Copies of Your Resume
    Have several copies of your updated resume on hand to distribute to employers. Tailor your resume to emphasize relevant skills and experiences. Visit the Career Studio to get assistance crafting your resume.
  5. Ask Thoughtful Questions
    Prepare a list of questions to ask recruiters about their company culture, available positions, and what they look for in a candidate. This demonstrates your genuine interest and allows you to gather valuable information to assess if the company aligns with your career goals.
