Get Peer Tutoring and Writing Support when you need it

Did you know that the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) provides support services to assist you in your academics?

Peer Tutoring

ACE has several Peer Tutors and Writing Tutors who are ready to help you with your academics. Their Peer Tutors and Writing Tutors cover a variety of classes offered at SJC. Peer Tutors and Writing Tutors have all taken the course they tutor for and have been recommended by our faculty.

How to Access Peer Tutors and Writing Tutors

To be connected with a Peer Tutor, please email askACE@sjcme.edu. ACE will reply to your email within 24 hours and your Peer Tutor will connect with you within the following 1-2 days. You are able to meet with your Peer Tutor or Writing Tutor in person or virtually (whatever you are most comfortable with!).

NetTutor

ACE is also very excited to announce Saint Joseph’s College of Maine will now be using NetTutor, a free 24/7 online Peer Tutoring resource for all SJC students to access.

Through NetTutor, students have the ability to connect with a professional Peer Tutor through…

• Live whiteboard
• Live video-call

All sessions are recorded and stored in a library for you to access after your tutoring sessions have ended!

How to Access NetTutor

Accessing NetTutor is simple! You will find NetTutor under “student resources” on any of your Brightspace courses. When you click the “NetTutor” link, you will automatically be logged into your SJC account.
