Belonging Framework Initiative

The First Phase of the SJC Belonging Framework Initiative is the January 2026 Community Connections Challenge!

  • The Belonging Framework Initiative provides guidance, context and activities to help employees feel a sense of belonging at SJC. Belonging in the workplace is the experience of being fully accepted, included, and valued as your authentic self.
  • An employee’s role in fostering belonging is to show up authentically, build genuine connections with colleagues, actively participate with their team, and contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by sharing feedback and being open to others.
  • When employees feel a sense of belonging, they are more comfortable contributing their ideas, forming meaningful connections, and working collaboratively toward common goals.

Awards/Recognitions

Appreciation Baskets (quarterly)

Human Resources distributes baskets of treats to all departments on a rotating basis to coincide with related national recognition days.

Mission Recognition Awards (quarterly)

This recognition program aims to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and contributions of our employees in support of the College’s mission. This is an opportunity to express our mission as a Catholic Mercy institution by recognizing employees who exemplify our mission, vision, and core values. Nominees will receive a certificate and be entered into a raffle for a prize to be drawn at the annual Mercy Tea/Employee Celebration.
