Physical Education alum, Sawyer Pinkham ’19, thinks outside the box

Share

This past winter, Physical Education/Health Teacher and alumnus Sawyer Pinkham ’19 taught his students about ice fishing and how to be good stewards of the outdoors.

Sawyer says, “In a non-traditional school year, I thought this would be a good opportunity to try something different and give the students a chance to learn a lifelong skill.”

Students helped set traps, cleaned out drilled holes, and pulled up their own fish when they had a flag. They also learned about building a fire without any sort of paper, dry wood vs. wet wood, slow-burning wood vs. fast-burning wood, etc.

Kuddos to Sawyer for passing on earth stewardship to the next generation!
