VanDeMoere & Hendricks Garner GNAC Weekly Recognition

1/31/22 – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and a pair of Saint Joseph’s College track & field athletes have been honored.

Seniors Samantha VanDeMoere (Thornton, N.H.) and Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) have been selected as the GNAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University, which featured mostly DI and professional athletes, over the weekend.

VanDeMoere placed 53rd with a 2:27.99 time in the 800-Meter Run at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and was the sixth NCAA DIII runner to finish the event. For VanDeMoere, the conference weekly award is a career-first.

Hendricks finished 29th with a 2:38.39 effort in the 1000-Meter Run at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and was the fourth NCAA DIII runner to finish the event. The GNAC weekly track & field honor is the third of his career. He has also earned seven GNAC cross country accolades.

Saint Joseph’s returns to action this weekend at the 2022 Indoor Track & Field State Championships. Hosted by Colby College, the women compete on Friday while the men compete on Saturday.
