Checking in on mental health

Share

We here at the College have been hearing from members of our community that mental wellbeing this semester may be feeling a bit challenged. So many changes have occurred over the past two years. Transition. Transition. Transition. We know that everyone manages things differently; some people may be sailing along; others may be slogging along; and yet others may be somewhere in between.

Over the next couple weeks, folks from the Counseling Center will be offering mental health screenings to any student who is interested. The process takes 5 minutes or less and provides an opportunity to slow down, respond to a few statements, see results about how life is shaking out currently, and maybe get a few suggestions about resources on campus or coping strategies. (The results, by the way, are confidential).

If you’re interested in participating you can find us at

  • Health Center on Wednesday the 10th from 9 to10:30am
  • Alfond Hall Auditorium on Wednesday the 17th from 12 to 2pm

We will let you know when other appearances are scheduled. If you have any questions about this screening process, feel free to write to counselingcenter@sjcme.edu.

Wishing you good mental health,
The crew at the Counseling Center
