Sexual Assault Awareness (and Prevention) Month

Share

In the United States, movements for social change and equality began to gain traction in the 1940, efforts championed by Black women and women of color. Wide social activism around the issue of sexual assault continued into the 1970s, bringing with it support for survivors and heightened awareness. By 2001, April was nationally observed as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Take this time to find ways to advocate for awareness and prevention. Join Activists, Advocates, and Survivors in raising awareness, educating the people around us, and creating a culture in which these behaviors are not tolerated.
