Men’s Basketball: Monks Hold Off Chargers, Win Fourth Straight

2/6/23 –Saint Joseph’s College (12-9, 8-5 GNAC) defeated Colby-Sawyer College (9-13, 6-8 GNAC), 74-67, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men’s basketball action on Monday evening. The Monks have now won four-consecutive games.
Despite starting the game shooting 3-for-17 in the opening eight minutes, the Monks faced just a three-point deficit (17-14) before freshman forward Wani Donato (Portland, Maine) made a layup at the 6:59 mark to ignite a 21-5 run, which saw the visitors secure a 35-22 cushion heading into intermission.
The Chargers kicked off the second stanza with a 17-6 outbreak, as Omar Boone capped the surge with a pair of freebies to cut the Monks’ lead down to two points (41-39) with 14:05 remaining.
