A message from the Center for Sustainable Communities

We did it! We earned the Gold AND made the Top 10 Performers on the Master’s Institutions List.

Not only did we earn the Gold Award for our STARS Standard 2.2 assessment score, we also received recognition in their newly released 2022 Sustainable Campus Index top 10 list of Carnegie designated “Masters Institutions.” In the report, you will also find a few paragraphs in the “Institutional Highlights” section that notes our most recent academic and sustainable communities initiatives.

It wasn’t that long ago when adding a sustainability themed reading assignment to a syllabus seemed bold. Now, the distinctive Leadership for Sustainable Development major reflects our commitment to sustainability and is well poised to grow from here. And in the Leadership MBA, students’ study of systems and ethical responsibility now culminates in the capstone course, Strategic Management of the Sustainable Enterprise. Both of these examples – and there are others – exemplify the level of commitment we share with our students.

As the CSC often operates behind the scenes, we want to be sure that this award shines a bright light on our resilient community. We – All of Us – are awesome!

In a spirit of continuous improvement and heartfelt gratitude,
