The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men’s lacrosse postseason honors have been announced and three Saint Joseph’s College players have earned accolades.

Seniors Shane Puleo (Nashua, N.H.) and Alex Osmanski (Abington, Mass.) have claimed First Team All-Conference honors and senior Brendan Martin (Nashua, N.H.) has collected Third Team All-GNAC acclaim.
Puleo, a 2019 Second Team honoree, tallied 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 total points in eight games this spring and currently ranks seventh in NCAA DIII Men’s Lacrosse in assists per game (3.38) and 22nd in points per game (5.88). Despite having played in only eight games, Puleo remains second in the GNAC in assists and fourth in points.
In 47 career games, Puleo netted 66 goals with 101 assists for 167 points and graduated last week as the Monks’ all-time assists leader. One of the most skilled playmakers in program history, the two-year team captain capped his career ranked third in the SJC record book in points, sixth in man-up goals (15), seventh in goals, ninth in shots (260), and 10th in shots on goal (130). He is also the Monks’ career leader in assists per game (2.15) and is currently fourth in points per game (3.55).
Also a 2019 Second Team All-GNAC selection, Osmanski collects First Team honors after totaling four goals and an assist with 30 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers in eight games this season. The senior LSM played in 46 career games with six goals, three assists, 122 ground balls, and 42 caused turnovers.
Osmanski, a two-year team captain, was one of the Monks’ fiercest competitors who led by example and set the bar high for his teammates, both on and off the field.
Martin earns the first All-Conference honor of his career after scoring a team-high 29 goals with 10 assists for 39 points over eight games during the 2021 campaign. The senior attack led the conference with 10 man-up goals and finished the year ranked sixth in the GNAC in goals scored.
In 31 career games, Martin netted 54 goals with 23 assists for 77 total points with 57 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. He leaves the program ranked sixth in team history in goals per game (1.74) and seventh in points per game (2.48).
Under the watch of fifth-year Head Coach Bill Cosentino this spring the Monks posted a 5-3 record overall with a 3-1 mark in conference play. St. Joe’s finished the truncated campaign with three-consecutive GNAC victories, including a thrilling 16-15 overtime triumph over Rivier University on April 7th.
