Women’s Lacrosse: Monks Surge Past Pride, 17-3

4/12/23 – Saint Joseph’s College (11-2, 9-0 GNAC) toppled Regis College (5-7, 3-6 GNAC), 17-3, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s lacrosse contest held at the SJC Athletics Complex on Wednesday evening.
The Monks received goals from Bridget Collins (Milford, Conn.), Carson Battaglia (Gorham, Maine), and Shauna Clark (Oakland, Maine) to stake a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and headed into halftime with a 7-1 cushion after junior Teegan Gilreath (Lowell, Mass.) netted a man-up goal on a Collins feed 1:14 before the break.
Saint Joseph’s claimed a 10-goal lead when grad student Lydia Dexter (Oakland, Maine) hit pay dirt on a Mackenzie Siebert (Naples, Maine) assist 1:10 into the third period and the hosts closed out the contest with four unanswered goals in the final nine minutes to clinch the 14-goal triumph.
