Madeleine LeBrecque ’21 Earns Honorable Mention For State Award!

Share

Madeleine LeBrecque ’21 was a community leader during her time at Saint Joe’s. This spring, she finished her tenure as President of our Gay-Straight Transgender Alliance+ (GSTA), where she proudly and positively pushed the College to be a more inclusive and welcoming community. Now the Maine Secretary of State has recognized the same qualities that made her a powerhouse on campus. Maddie just won an Honorable Mention for the John Lewis Youth Leadership Award, named for the late Congressman known for his courageous achievements during the Civil Rights Movement and his long tenure of public service. The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) established this award in February 2021, inviting Secretaries to recognize a gifted, civic-minded young person age 25 or younger, who demonstrates leadership abilities, has passion for social justice, and is improving the quality of life in their community.

Congrats, Maddie. We’re so Proud.
