Sydney Hatch, softball4/6/21 – Hatch Picked as GNAC Co-Pitcher of the Week
Sophomore Sydney Hatch (Newburgh, Maine) has been named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Hatch claims her first GNAC weekly accolade after spinning a gem in a 6-2 win over Bates College on Wednesday, when the second-year starting pitcher allowed two unearned runs off four hits with four strikeouts in seven innings.

In four starts this spring, Hatch sports a 5.08 ERA with a 2-2 record and five strikeouts over 20.2 innings.

Hatch shares the weekly honor with Dean College sophomore Zoe Coleman (Warwick, R.I.), who allowed two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts  in a complete-game victory over Rivier University.


Adam Escore, lacrosse4/6/21 – Enscoe Named GNAC Rookie of the Week
Freshman Adam Enscoe (Rochester, N.H.) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.

Enscoe led the Monks to two GNAC wins by winning 74.2% (23-31) of his face-off attempts last week. The freshman face-off midi won 14 of 15 bids in a triumph over Anna Maria on Tuesday and was 9-for-16 against Johnson & Wales on Saturday.

Through seven games this spring, Enscoe has won 49.3% (53-108) of his face-off attempts and ranks fourth in the conference in both face-off wins and ground balls (27).


Luke Stephens, baseball4/6/21 – Stephens Earns Second GNAC Top Rookie Honor
First-year pitcher/infielder Luke Stephens (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Rookie of the Week for the second time this spring.

Stephens belted a walk-off home run in the 10th inning to lift Saint Joseph’s over New England College, 6-5, in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. Overall at the plate, Stephens hit .273 (3-11) and walked three times for a .429 OBP to go with three runs, a double, a homer, and two RBI in the Monks’ 3-1 week. On the mound in a 5-3 loss at Colby, Stephens struck out six and allowed three runs (none earned) over 4.2 innings.

Through 17 games this season, Stephens is hitting .176 (6-34) with five runs, a double, two home runs, and six RBI. On the mound, the righthander is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 13 strikeouts – against six walks – in 12.2 innings.
